Alabama Meets Africa

Another week down in West Africa here. We switched it up a little this week and was quite interesting. Pretty good week overall.      This week we did some old fashioned American contacting. This meant we went from door to door or rather gate to gate. Now this usually isn't successful here in Africa because either they never answer or to busy so it's best to just find people on the streets but we thought we'd try it out. So we found a couple rich neighbourhoods (pretty easy to find) and started knocking. It actually wasn't too bad, almost everytime someone came to the gate and would talk with us. The only problem with this is you never know if the house owner will come or a worker  bit either way we are talking with someone. Was nice to change it up a bit. We will continue to try again next week and see how well it holds up.     Now to my subject, we were riding our bikes around talking with people like any other day but on our way back to our apartment one...

Alright Everybody, another week past.     Tuesday we had district council as usual and it was the last one in the transfer so the people leaving said goodbye and stuff like that. Wednesday was the start of the new transfer and we now have two new people in my district which I'll see on Tuesday which is tomorrow. Thursday we were able to teach this guy named Solomon. He is actually pretty cool guy and he is the security guard for the adidas store here. The only issue is he hasn't come to church yet so we are praying he will continue to be interested and to come. Thursday night I had the opportunity to give a blessing which was awesome. A brother wanted a blessing of comfort for his exams coming the next day so he asked us if we can give him one and we of course said yes. Cool experience. Friday not too much happened, taught Solomon again and met with a member for small time. Saturday was cool, we had a guy come to us and says he wants to be a missionary haha. So we are teaching...

Become Someone You Aspire To Be

Ay Chale it's been long time oooo.     I'd like to first just start this email out by saying how grateful I am for the people I've met and friends I've made on mission. No doubt I'd be where I'm at without their support. Every week I get refreshed and motivated to do more by reading their emails and seeing the great lights they are as they go out. Sometimes I get thoughts that say "well this place is hard so my efforts don't work or I think is there any point to this?" Then I see my friends emails and see the things their doing and see the work in action. Perseverance is the word that comes to mind. Perseverance is staying constant and trying your best everyday. When I thing of Perseverance I think of Abinadi. He was doing missionary work for years and nobody listened. He Could have given up, I think it would have been justified if he were to do so. Be he didn't, he kept on teaching, he kept on pushing, and most importantly he didn't give u...

Listen To Him

2021 Done and 2022 straight ahead. This past week has been very nice but an enduring one for sure.     We were unable to meet with a lot of the people we would have like to meet with because of the holidays and people being out of town. So thats been not as cool and lately we have been meeting a lot of people where they are serious when we first meet with them but then they never call back or keep pushing us off. So we are just pushing along hoping some things go back to normal after the rush of the holidays.      George was able to come on Sunday to get confirmed which was very nice and awesome to see. He just seemed very happy to be there and grateful for what he has found which is awesome.      We had interviews with the mission president this past week which was good. He was telling me how the area I am in (Madina) was like the third ward to open in Accra Ghana so it has been around for a while now.      We went to our second ar...
