Become Someone You Aspire To Be
Ay Chale it's been long time oooo.
I'd like to first just start this email out by saying how grateful I am for the people I've met and friends I've made on mission. No doubt I'd be where I'm at without their support. Every week I get refreshed and motivated to do more by reading their emails and seeing the great lights they are as they go out. Sometimes I get thoughts that say "well this place is hard so my efforts don't work or I think is there any point to this?" Then I see my friends emails and see the things their doing and see the work in action. Perseverance is the word that comes to mind. Perseverance is staying constant and trying your best everyday. When I thing of Perseverance I think of Abinadi. He was doing missionary work for years and nobody listened. He Could have given up, I think it would have been justified if he were to do so. Be he didn't, he kept on teaching, he kept on pushing, and most importantly he didn't give up. I mean if you look at his efforts, he only converted one person. One person! After all the years of pain and threats he went through he only converted one. But that's not how God sees it nor Jesus. The see a generation, they see the latter day Saints. Because of Abinadi's efforts, we have the book of Alma in the Book of Mormon. Could you imagine if Abinadi were to have given up before preaching to Alma? We wouldn't be where we are at with out it. I guess my point is never give up, your efforts are never wasted. You'll never know when you'll come across your Alma that sees you, hears you, and loves you. Keep trying your best, you're doing great.
This week we had more success in seeing people in person which was cool! We had had guy named prince come to church and he said how do I become a full member because I want be one, we said no problem haha. Great to see the people who come to us, makes work easy haha.
We get transfer news next Saturday so thats pretty exciting. I'm very curious on whats going to happen and how everything is going to play out.
This week has been interesting for food. Apparently there is this Muslim holiday going on so everyone took like a week off. Two biggest religions here I'd say are Christians and Muslims. But More importantly all the places I go get food took a week off. So I've been living off of pineapple and bread and rice for a week. Fun times in Africa I got to say.
That's about it for this week. Didn't get much pictures so sorry for that one. Find that person that motivates or inspires you and if you can't, then be that person that does it to others. Love you all!
Best,
Elder Busschau.
