Alabama Meets Africa

Another week down in West Africa here. We switched it up a little this week and was quite interesting. Pretty good week overall.

This week we did some old fashioned American contacting. This meant we went from door to door or rather gate to gate. Now this usually isn't successful here in Africa because either they never answer or to busy so it's best to just find people on the streets but we thought we'd try it out. So we found a couple rich neighbourhoods (pretty easy to find) and started knocking. It actually wasn't too bad, almost everytime someone came to the gate and would talk with us. The only problem with this is you never know if the house owner will come or a worker  bit either way we are talking with someone. Was nice to change it up a bit. We will continue to try again next week and see how well it holds up.

Now to my subject, we were riding our bikes around talking with people like any other day but on our way back to our apartment one day we saw this white chick. She was all alone just walking around and we weren't really going to say anything but then she saw us and said that we could probably help her and we were like alrighty. First thing I notice when I pull up is the thickest southern accent which was to my surprise. Turns out she was lost trying to find her hotel but she said she lived in Alabama and has lived up north of Ghana serving a mission for 9 years and was going home that night back to the states. Mission for another church though but was surprising to hear. Interesting what you'll find out here.

Other than that not too much was going on this past week. Probably going to get a hair cut today so pray for me lol. We have interviews with the Mission President tomorrow also. Hope you all have had a great week. Till next week y'all!

Best,

Elder Busschau.
