2nd Week In Africa

Image
Good morning everybody! It has now been 1 week and 4 days in Africa. It has been a wild and emotional experience for sure. When I first got here, last Saturday we baptized someone so that was very cool! My companion, Elder Williams, is Nigerian and he was an amateur boxer so I feel pretty safe around him haha. This past week I have usually just watched my companion teach and then i would either bear testimony or what i have been doing the past few days is teaching just a few parts of the lesson. I have really found joy in teaching people. I know for a fact that I am growing in ways I'd never thought I would. I'm really seeing another side of me that I'd would have never thought I had which is a good thing. Africa is pretty wild as I've said haha. The roads are like Mario kart and you never have to shower because your always sweaty! Jk haha but really, I don't think I've ever been dry since I've been here. I'm getting used to it though. The people are rea...

Last Day!

Hello Everybody!      A lot has happened here during my last week of MTC. First off, I have gotten my travel itinerary! I check out of the mtc at 7:50am and fly to New York the JFK airport around 2pm. I get there around 8:30pm and have about a 3 hour layover then I fly straight to Ghana Accra. I leave New York around 11:30pm and don't get to Ghana until 2ish pm Thursday. So needless to say I have a lot of plane time! I am ready to leave here though and get to Africa!! My last day of classes was Saturday so I have had a few days off now but my days have been full of devotionals and information meetings. Sunday I gave a lesson in priesthood meeting about personal revelation and it was very cool! I was able to feel the spirit and I was able to see people learning. Earlier this week an Elder in my district sprained his foot pretty bad, later that night he asked all of us for a blessing. This gave all the Elders in my district an opportunity to give him a healing priesthood bl...

First Week Of In-Person MTC

Hello Everybody!!     This has been a wild and busy week here. Everyday we have classes and then sometimes devotionals. My first day here was super busy with devotionals and getting to know people. My district is really cool and so is my companion. I'd say one of my favorite parts here is during the devotionals when all the missionaries sing hymns together. The food here is good, they keep us well fed. The gym is also very cool and we get plenty of exercise just from walking to our rooms from across the campus to our classes. I get to feel the spirit plenty of times which is super cool. I'm ready to go to Ghana though, there is not much to do here outside of classes, devotionals, and exercise. Luckily I am out of here just next wednesday. I was able to go to the temple today with my district which was cool. It was nice to see the difference in the provo temple from the Portland Oregon Temple. I'll attach some pictures for all of you to see. Anyways, next time I write it wil...
