Cow Knee

Image
Chale another week gone again and again. This week was good. We got transfer news. Sadly Elder Loving is leaving me. Hes finally going to the outer zones. A place called afloa. I've enjoyed my time with him but I'm excited for what's next. My new companion is Elder Humpherys. I've heard he's cool so I'm excited.  Some quick updates: I've now had cow knee. Yeah. We did an exchange and I went with Elder Robbinson who is Nigerian. We saw a guy sowing some kente and it was so cool! Very fascinating, they use their feet and hands to do it. Some pics below. Not that much of a week though. That's about it. Got some pics though.  Mosiah 4:19-21 Yep tell next week. Much Love, Elder Busschau.

When Prayers Go Answered

Another one gone like that. These weeks are going. Unfortunately not a lot happened this week. So this email won't be that cool. But we did have a cool miracle. First half of the week was cool. We just had our normal district council meeting and we also had an exchange with Elder Sperry and Elder Momoh. I went with Elder Momoh from Nigeria. Cool guy. Had a good exchange.  We are teaching this kid named Phillip who is super smart and just one of my favorite kids to teach. He is almost 17 and his family wants to become members. The unfortunate thing was he just went to boarding school today. Friday we went and saw him for the last time. Sad time but he'll be back in about month and half. Pics below.  Our miracle this was we have been meeting with this less active recently. We found Monica by inspiration and by her own fervent and heartfelt prayers to find the church in her area. It turns out she was a member in an area called Teshie but once moved, never found the church in this...

Never Give Up.

Hey Everybody! It's been a delightful week. Let me share a few small things with you. Wednesday we had our zone conference and it was great! I gave a training on love for others to over 70 missionaries and it went very well. The spirit was there and I was happy to give a training. Love is the most important factor in all we do, learn to be a Peacemaker. On Friday we did an exchange in an area called Kpone. Yes, if you remember well this was my first area on Mission. It was interesting to be back and be around for a day. We spent the night in the same apartment too, named Kokompe. As I was in the apartment that night it made me think on my first time I was there. The scared, nervous, homesick missionary I was with a gut wrenching feeling that went as deep as hell itself. The most outside I have ever been of my comfort zone. Wondereing how I could possibly do two years of this. It made me want to go back in time and just give that guy a huge hug. Then as Elder Loving was pondering th...

Elder Loving

Written by Elder Loving but I just want to remember this moment and he wrote it so well and it was funny.  If you've read my emails, you've seen my pictures of the crazy diverse food that this country prepares.  I love trying new things so it's been the highlight of my life the last 19 months. Well... that is until 2 weeks ago. We went to see our friend Vivian Agbo and she was so happy to have us around. She's an older woman who is grinding to take care of her mentally ill son and put the other younger son, Selasie, through school. To thank us for always checking up on her she gave us her special "hometown" Ewe koko as she called it. I loved this woman so dearly until this day. I absolutely hate koko. For referrence, koko is a breakfast pourage that you drink and is like drinking gross hot pancake batter. She went inside her humble house to prepare us the koko which I desperately wanted to refuse. Its not very correct in this culture to reject things so I acce...

The Foreordained Christ

Hey guys! We've had some great things going on so this email will be a little different but was a good week. Elder Loving and I had a great experience again this week. One evening this week we were biking back to our apartment from a lesson and we got a prompting to go down this certain road. It was a still small prompting but we both felt it and said we should probably go down. As we went down we saw a friend we are teaching that we haven't seen in a while. We talked with her for a little bit and then kept on going thinking that was probably the reason for the prompting. As we neared the end of the road we saw two people moving their hands around. Yes. You guessed it. We saw two more deaf people and we stopped and they almost immediately came up to us and started signing. Word must be going around haha. The second I saw them I felt the spirit tell me "That's why. Now listen to me more (haha)" One is a Christian named Bright and the other is a Muslim named Muhamma...
