Baptism Time

Image
Hello Everyone!     Not a whole lot happened this week. We are just pushing along here in Madina and Legon. I was going to have to give a talk last Sunday but they postponed it till further notice. They let us know about 5 min till we had to give it that it was postponed haha.      We did have two baptisms yesterday though!! I'd like to welcome Brother Gayos and Junior as new members of our church. Gayos was the guy I was talking about last week who had the hard situation. He was able to get baptized yesterday and will be confirmed next week. Same with Junior. Excited for both of them.      Other than that not a whole lot went on. Thanksgiving was not too bad. A member invited us over for some food. I had rice and soup then goat for meat. Super yummy of course (Sarcasm). Actually wasn't too bad though so it's all good.      We had a devotional with the area president yesterday for all of West Africa which was pretty cool. They talke...

Blessings

Hello Everyone!!     Another week gone by. This week wasn't the most interesting but I saw some blessings. Its starting to go into the hot season here which is a little hard to believe but here we go I guess.     This week we contacted a little bit in our second area. We are over two areas, Madina 2 which is where I live and do most of missionary work but we are also over an area called Legon. We don't go over there much because it is literally the university of Ghana so nobody has time to talk with us. But I got some cool pictures that I'll attach to this email so you can see how it looks. It's pretty nice I must say for Ghana. Also most of the members in the Legon branch go to school there and they just got on break so the Branch President actually just said we won't have church for 6 weeks because everyone is going home for the break haha. This is ok for us though because we can still go to Madina 2 ward.     There was a food fair last Saturday which was...

You Just Need To Remember!

Image
Hello Everybody!!     This week has been actually a really good one. Maybe even one of the best so far on mission. No baptism but just great teaching and seeing people's eyes just light up when we help them "remember" the gospel. We all know the gospel and the right way from the pre-mortal life, its just our job to help them remember.      There is the guy named Prince. Elder Sawyer and his last companion taught him the restoration and then this last week I and Elder Sawyer taught him the plan of salvation. I have never seen a person enjoy learning about the gospel as much as him. This was my first time on mission someone actually excited to learn. We were getting to the end of the Plan of salvation lesson and were talking about the three kingdoms of glory. He was just so astonished that there are actually three heavens and not just heaven and hell. He was a little skeptical though and asked where that was in the bible. We said don't worry we got you, look at 1C...

Transfer 2!!!

Image
Hello Everybody!!     I am now all settled in to my new apartment and area. I spelt the area wrong in the last email so let me fix that here, it is spelt like Madina. I can already tell this transfer is going to much better than the last. The people are really cool here and my companion is great! His name is Elder Sawyer and he is from Colorado. He has been on mission for about 14 months and he actually was reassigned at first to the tacoma Washington mission! He served there for about 7 months before coming to Ghana. He is a cool guy.      This apartment is also much nicer than my last. It is smaller in area though but more cleaner and good looking. Although it doesn't have A/C it has a water heater! That means hot showers for at least this transfer!      In this area we are over a branch and a ward like my last. Church on Sunday was cool too. This Sunday only like 10 people came to the branch though so that is a new experience for me having such...
