You Just Need To Remember!

Hello Everybody!!

This week has been actually a really good one. Maybe even one of the best so far on mission. No baptism but just great teaching and seeing people's eyes just light up when we help them "remember" the gospel. We all know the gospel and the right way from the pre-mortal life, its just our job to help them remember.

There is the guy named Prince. Elder Sawyer and his last companion taught him the restoration and then this last week I and Elder Sawyer taught him the plan of salvation. I have never seen a person enjoy learning about the gospel as much as him. This was my first time on mission someone actually excited to learn. We were getting to the end of the Plan of salvation lesson and were talking about the three kingdoms of glory. He was just so astonished that there are actually three heavens and not just heaven and hell. He was a little skeptical though and asked where that was in the bible. We said don't worry we got you, look at 1Cor 15:39-41 and 2Cor 12:2. After reading these He was so happy and was like "why does nobody teach this from the bible?!?!" And we're just like right?? That's why we are here to help you! He then says I'll follow you anywhere! So yeah he's a really cool guy. Just needs to come to church haha.

Towards the beginning of last week we also taught some college students who seemed pretty interested, it's always cool to see the minds turning when we bring up new concepts like the fall of Adam and Eve is actually a blessing and not a curse or spirit world or three heavens like mentioned before. We hope they will progress but college students are always busy around here.

You'll see I was able to get some nice foods from home this week!! I got some mash potatoes and I made a burrito! Very happy about that. My comp and I also went and got fresh mangos, bananas, and pineapple and made some fresh smoothies which tasted very good. We have also been finding some American stores around with American groceries and I found fruit loops! Was very excited about that. Today we will be going to this place called China mall, it supposedly is like a dollar tree and Costco combined so it will be interesting to check that out.

The picture you see down below with a man is actually not prince, this is martin and he is disabled. He can't walk and can hardly bring himself up. He is a member and is always smiling. He is in smelly, cluttered, and disgusting living place to say the least but he is happy and always wants to meet with us. He is a great example of not needing worldly things to be happy.

I also almost fell into a poop gutter this week too. On the sides of the roads on all roads, there are these like 3-4 feet deep by like 2-3 feet wide concrete gutters that drain water. But because of how people are, they also drain their poop water in these gutters too. That's why it always smells a lot. Anyways I was riding my bike and it was dark and almost fell in one so that was a crazy experience.

That's about all I have for this week. Crazy but fun and spiritual week I'd like to say. Miss all of you like crazy and am so thankful for the support I get from all of you. Helps during the times that aren't so fun. I'd be lying if I said I have loved every second of mission so far. But I have definitely grown in the time being here so far.

My best,

Elder Busschau.
