Blessings
Hello Everyone!!
Another week gone by. This week wasn't the most interesting but I saw some blessings. Its starting to go into the hot season here which is a little hard to believe but here we go I guess.
This week we contacted a little bit in our second area. We are over two areas, Madina 2 which is where I live and do most of missionary work but we are also over an area called Legon. We don't go over there much because it is literally the university of Ghana so nobody has time to talk with us. But I got some cool pictures that I'll attach to this email so you can see how it looks. It's pretty nice I must say for Ghana. Also most of the members in the Legon branch go to school there and they just got on break so the Branch President actually just said we won't have church for 6 weeks because everyone is going home for the break haha.
This is ok for us though because we can still go to Madina 2 ward.
There was a food fair last Saturday which was a stake activity which had some nice food. Pretty much all African food there except that the Legon branch made pancakes! They were pretty good. They weren't exactly American pancakes but they were good.
I'll mention one blessing I saw this week. There is this guy names Gayos. His wife is a member but he is not and has investigated our church for several months now. He has been taught everything and is probably more knowledgeable on our church than several members. He just wasn't convinced enough that he needed to join because he felt like he was good with God already. So we didn't see him for a little while so he could just have time to think. Let me also mention he is going through a difficult life situation where literally everyone in his apartment complex hates his family because they don't go to the church that everyone else does in the complex. And he doesn't have a stable job to keep rent. So going back to the situation, yesterday he calls us and said I want to be baptized now and I'm ready! We were so amazed and now he will be baptized this Saturday. Its just like the saying goes, Heavenly Father will put us in situations where we will WANT to follow him. Because a few days ago some people finally snapped at him and some other things happened where it made him decide that he needs God more and wanted to be baptized. This was truly a blessing we saw this week.
We also hope that the kids I mentioned last week will be baptized also this week. The bishop still needs to talk to their parents so we are waiting on that.
Some tendermercies seen this week is I had Burger King last Monday and dominos last Thursday! Best meals I've had in a while lol. You truly don't appreciate something until is gone haha. It was a nice change from rice and chicken 7 days a week.
Yesterday my companion Elder Sawyer was pretty sick. We are still not sure what he has but yesterday night I offered to give him a blessing of comfort and he gladly accepted and was a great experience. I am very grateful for the experience and for the priesthood to be able to do this. Today he is feeling a little better but still sick. So we hope for a speedy recovery!
I'm so grateful for everyone who prays for me and has given me support! I truly appreciate it and I see it helping me! I'm just around three months on mission now! Can you believe it? Some days feel like 3 months though but the weeks go by fast so I just need to enjoy the experience I have right now.
I love you all! But Jesus Loves you more.
Best,
Elder Busschau.
