I Dey Bush

Hey Everybody reading this. I got some transfer news. I am being transferred. To the bush! Kinda. It is outside of Accra though so it will be my first time serving outside of Accra. I will serve in an area called Oyoko, Koforidua. I hear it is like half Bush and half city. I'm super excited. My companion is Elder Mabuku from Zimbabwe. This will be my last area on Mission before I go home. I'm excited to start this.

The rest of this week was cool. We had an exchange on Wednesday, district council on Tuesday, and stake conference on Sunday. The chief of Ashaiman was invited to the Stake Conference and he came! Then afterwards, this little kid comes up to me and says "My dad wants a picture with you." I'm thinking like which dad and who are you kid. Then we walk with him to this truck and all of the sudden the chief gets out and we start taking a picture with him! So yeah the CHIEF wanted a picture with Elder Humpherys and I. And I should note there were plenty other missionaries there too so basically I'm tight with the chief now. He also said I've been to his house before but I don't remember that haha. Another check off the bucket list.

One of the speakers at the stake conference (Elder Aliche of the area seventy) had a powerful talk on about being grateful and gratitude. He mentioned a school he visited where they had beneath minimal circumstances of living. He talked about the holes in the roof so when they sleep on their cardboard boxes, it rains on them. Then about their broken plates they can barely hold their coco on. In the classrooms there were no tables our chairs, just a ground and a wall. He metioned that their clothes had holes all over them and could barely be classified has clothes. But at the end of his visit at this school, the leaders of the school said the kids wanted to sing to him. So they gathered the kids and got all around and started singing:

"When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed, When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, Count your many blessings; name them one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord has done...." if you know the rest of the song then you should know that the kids finished singing it to the end. But for those who don't know this song, it is called Count Your Blessings. Elder Aliche was overwhelmed and started to cry. He said he couldn't see any blessings they could be grateful for. Yet these kids believed in God and were grateful for what they at least had. And he went on to say how blessed are we and how much more grateful we can be. Moved me. Then as a congregation for the closing hymn we all sang Count Your Blessings. Powerful.

I'll truly miss Bethlehem though. I've made some real good friends here so this week will also be filled with goodbyes and collecting numbers. Sad times. Next week will start the last month president Young is with us. We meet Elder Gong in about two weeks. My last devotional with president Young is in about three weeks. I have mission leadership council this week. I bought three Muslim robes, wait what? Alight moving on. A lot to be missed but even more to be grateful for. We truly have a Loving Heavenly Father who cares for all of us. I have a testimony on that.

I love you all. But God loves you more.

Till next week.

Much Love,

Elder Busschau.
