God Always Knows
First full week in Bethlehem. Its nice here. And God knows why I am here. Sorry for this email being a little late. Been busy so I'm writing now. Hope you all have had a good week though. Let's talk about mine.
Tuesday was a busy day. We zone council and it was the first time I conducted it. This is the meeting where our whole zone meets together and we talk about our goals and how we want to improve for the transfer (the next 6 weeks). Then we have some trainings to help us how to improve. Was a good and edifying time. Aftwards we were able to meet some of our friends we are teaching.
Wednesday we had interviews with president Young. It was a good interview and had a good conversation. Not much happened afterwards though. We were able to teach some cool people and some new members and help them grow in the church.
Thursday we did a lot of finding and knocking on compound gates. Its a interesting experience. Had a guy come out in a towl with tooth brush in mouth staring at us. We said we would go and come haha. Most people just say they are busy and we share something small and see where that takes us. In the evening time we did our weekly planning and planned for our week and for our zone.
Friday we did a lot of walking around and talking with people we have met before and trying to teach some others. We were able to teach some other people and that was nice but nothing too interesting.
Saturday. Saturday was a busy day for us as we didn't even take a lunch. We were going from appointment to appointment teaching. Was a fulfilling time and also exhausting. Because of this we went to get some fufu for dinner. And this is where my subject comes in. While Elder Loving and I were buying some food, things got chaotic. Kids were screaming obroni, people passing were making comments about the Americans buying fufu, and this local crazy woman was trying to kiss us. It was a distracting time. Amidst the chaos, a woman came up to me and began signing to me in American sign language. We have never met this woman before but for some reason she was confident enough to come up to me and to sign specifically to me. Through me off haha. After signing for a little bit something hit me. I asked her how she knew I could sign. She responded and said, "I didn't know, I just guessed." Truly I think it was more than a guess. She told me she was taught 8 years ago by a missionary but hasn't been taught since. Went on to get to know her a little more and just take in what just happened. Her name is Joyce by the way. I scheduled an appointment with her to meet again. Now I don't know if this will lead to baptism or even real progression. But what is the chances of me finding ANOTHER deaf person in my mission and specifically in this area that I have just been assigned to. The answer is none. Its divinely orchestrated by our Heavenly Father. Its amazing to look back on.
Again my testimony is on God Knows You. He knows exactly where you are. He is using you in His great plan. Nothing ever just happens, its not just happen stance, it's inspiration. I know God Lives and His son Jesus Christ. I know they know what you're going through and they are proud of you. Because your about to be used in their great plan if your listening. So listen and find the lesson in every Experience. I love them and I love you all. Keep pushing. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
Alright now for Sunday. Was a good day on Sunday. Church was good and was another good day trying to learn the members here in Bethlehem. After church we met with the auxiliary leaders and talked about how we can best help the ward. Good meeting. After this one we called a lot of people and then filed reports for our zone and then called more people. That's about it.
Monday we had a Mission Leadership Council meeting and talked about how we can best help the mission.
Thats it for this week though. If you got this far in the email then I hope you enjoyed. Next week I'm going to a place called Shai Hills and I'm excited for that. See some cool animals and plants I guess, I'll send pictures next week for that. Anyways I love you all and hope you have a good week. Write me if you want. Till next time.
Much Love,
Elder Busschau.
