Growth

Well this was a week and a half. Hey everybody! Hope your doing well. This was a busy and hectic week but we made it through! I may not have that much time to write this so I'll write the basics of what happened. Here we go!

 

 

Tuesday we had my last district council in Ashaiman. It was good and a little sad because I made a lot of friends in that zone and district. Afterwards I finished packing and said some goodbyes to my friends and members. Then that night we went to an Elders Apartment and had a sleepover so we wouldn't have to get up so early in Zenu. It was fun and we had pizza! 

 

 

Wednesday my life got turned upside down lol. Just kidding but not really. I left my son Bentley (sad time) then went to my new area Sangonaa. And met my new companion Elder Mbuyi from DRC. Well the good news is that I'm growing a lot haha. There is a beach so that is really cool actually. My companion is a intermediate in the English language haha. So I'm teaching him English. I'm also in a four man Apartment for the first time. So there is me (American) Then my companion (DRC) Then the other companionship is training and it is the trainer(Nigerian) and his trainee (Philippines) so a very diverse Apartment and a lot to get used to. So it's been interesting to say the least. Fun day.

 

 

Thursday I was trying my best to get used to the area and learn the people and members. People here also speak a different language called Gha. We did weekly planning and I learned the area is very disorganised and all over the place. So got some work todo but nothing I can't do.

 

 

Friday we went around teaching people and just again trying to get familiar with everything. The ward is pretty cool though so that's good.

 

 

Saturday was pretty much same thing as Friday. Also I'm still a District Leader in this area but in my last zone I was over 3 companionships and now in this district I'm over 6 companionship and a sister companship. So more people to call and check up on including the APs and our office Elders but they are all pretty cool. 

 

 

Sunday at church was good. I gave a talk which was a little unexpected but it was good! The members are cool and ready to help from at least what I can see. After church we went to teach some people and then I had to call my district which took a while. But it was good. 

 

 

I'm still adjusting and growing which I'm happy for but it's good. At the beginning of my mission I thought I would get to a point on my mission where I would be feeling great with everything but God is good at knowing what will humble me again overtime haha. I guess I need to be growing throughout my whole mission which is good. This week we have the Christmas devotional for the whole mission so that will be exciting. The Last *Full* Week

Yep, you read it correctly. This upcoming week is my last Monday to Sunday on mission. The week after I go home. Fly home that is. What an exhilarating time to be in. I am excited. But till that day comes, I'm here working and putting my last finishing touches in Ghana. The work is sweet, divine, and no where near my own work, but I'm here helping it.  This past week we've had some interesting experiences. We met an old African American women who was anti and didn't like white people. Was sad to see, someone so lost believing anything she sees online and giving no time or thought to the actual truth. Where truth is the spirit manifests itself, during that conversation there was no spirit, and not an ounce of happiness from her face. The gospel I Share brings joy to my heart everytime and to others it is shared with, as they embrace it. Please remember this when going around sifting through truth. The Home Stretch

I'm just going to say sorry right now that these last couple emails are probably going to be short because there's just a lot of preparation going on and just a lot of teaching, nothing big is really happening right now. So with that... I had a good exchange on Wednesday with some Elders. I went with Elder Miles from Utah. He has a lot of potential.  We did a lot of finding this week with trying to find new people to teach. We will always see some funny sign boards or some weird name of a place. This week I found New York! Pic below. We also just went up some mountains trying to find people. Even the mountain people need the gospel and ordinances. Good times.  Now we are up to Busschau 3 - Rat (we have found out that these are RATS) 0. That's what they get for peeing on my clothes.  So I have 2 more pdays after today. Busschau 2 - Mouse 0

Yeah we have a mouse problem. Let's just say these little guys don't live long when I see them. I can send pictures If asked for. Hope all of you are doing well! I've had a pretty good week. We had our first interviews with President Beeson. It was wonderful, I'm very grateful for his inspiration and advice. I can feel he was truly sent to this mission for a purpose.  This week we were able to put one of our good friends on date for baptism. Her name is Sister Vida and she is a mother to 5 children. She has been being taught by missionaries for long time and finally I get the privilege to be the missionary who will witness her baptism (hopefully). She has shown lots of faith and we've had some great spiritual lessons with her. Hopefully she will keep to her commitments and she will be baptized on the 19th August.
