Goodbye Zenu
Well you read the subject so you know what's up. But I'll talk more on that towards the end of my email. But this week not a whole lot happened except the transfer. So let's talk about it.
Tuesday we had District Council which ended up going well! Then afterwards we went back to our area and taught some people. Nothing too much to report.
Wednesday we taught some more people. I was also able to do some service by helping this Mommy cut the outside of her oranges so she can sell them. Then we had our Gospel essentials class also this day. So yeah, not a whole lot.
Thursday we had weekly planning. After that we tried to find some people to teach. Saw one of out progressing people named Agnes. She is getting baptised this coming Sunday! (Dec 18) So ill unfortunately miss it. Then we went to a members house which took us like 30 min to find because it was like a maze trying to find it. Then we found it and they fed us rice and stew. Very nice of them.
Friday was pretty cool. Our first appointment was to see Love. If you remember, she is deaf and it's been a while since I've been able to teach her. And I knew at that point I may be leaving soon so it was a sad. She had a question for me about having to cover her head when she prays and showed me quotation in new testament. I was able to help explain that she didn't and what Paul was really saying. She was still confused why somebody thought the bible was telling her to do this. Then the spirit guided me to introduce the Book of Mormon. I told her that there are plenty translations of the bible and everybody had there own interpretations of it. I told her I have a book that can help draw a clear line of what the doctrines are in the Bible. A support to it rather. And I showed her the Book Of Mormon. And I told her it is hers. Then a very tender moment is when she grabbed that book, something she has never seen before and hugged it and kissed it and was way over joyed. At first I thought "Love it's just the Book of Mormon?" But then I realised no. It's not just the Book of Mormon. It's that book that will answer her life long eternal questions that she has had for a very long time and that will give her so much peace. Something I sometimes forget because of having the Book my entire life. I didn't have to testify it was true, she knew it before I even gave the book to her. That's faith i haven't seen in a long time. It was a great lesson and one I won't soon forget. Love is getting the answers to her prayers and I can leave satisfied with that. I am happy for what the Lord has led me to do. I also got a picture with her so you can put a face to the name.
Continuing with Friday, I went to see Ruth also who is still trying to meet with missionaries but at least I got her trying to look for them so they can try to baptise her. So I'm happy with that. I didn't teach her there though. Then we taught a few a other lessons for the day and in the evening time I went over to an area called Klagon to do a baptismal Interview. She passed! Another cool interview, that is one thing I like about being a District Leader is that I get to do those interviews and see the people's Testimonies.
Saturday we got transfer news! So I am leaving Zenu. I am going to an area called Sangonaa and I am the District Leader there also and my new companion is Elder Mbuyi. Never met him but he is an African so it will be a cool experience to have another African companion. I am deep in the city so not in Bush but that's ok. I did hear my new area has the ocean in it which sounds pretty cool! I'm excited for it but sad to leave my son, Bentley. He's pretty sad too. We grew a pretty cool bond together that we will keep for a long time. I love that guy. He'll be good though.
After we got transfer news we went up to katamonsu and taught our people up there. Good day up there.
Sunday was a good day. Little sad at first because I said my last testimony in church and all the ward members were sad and I was too. Even though this ward had its challenges it was still good and Elder Bentley and I really put a lot of work in to grow it. It was good. After church not a whole lot happend. We went to go see some people and I tried to show Elder Bentley parts of the area I haven't showed him yet. I also started packing in the evening time to leave this area. Then I called my District for there reports.
So as you can see this week was pretty good and eventful. So really cool experiences. Wednesday I leave for my new area so say some prayers for me that I get there in one peace. I love you all and miss you all so much! Let me know how you are all doing! Alright thats about it. Till next week!
Much Love,
Elder Busschau.
