Training And General Conference
Hello Everybody.
This week has been full of lots of learning, patience, and Love.
Tuesday we had our last District Council. It was good and we said goodbye to the people who were leaving. Afterwards we went around our area so Elder Miller could say goodbye to a few people and then he had to pack. Not whole lot happened this day.
Wednesday. Wednesday started real early at 4:40am to get dressed and to look for a taxi to take us. Just with our luck it started to down pore and we got pretty wet haha. Eventually we found someone who would take him and we loaded our selves and took off. Traffic was horrible but we got to our stake center Eventually and then they sent me off to the mission office. Once I finally got there they did like a 10min training for the trainers and then we met our trainees. So the moment you have all waited for, my new companion is Elder Bentley from Utah haha. He is a pretty good guy and he is determined to work so he will do just fine. He is still adjusting to Africa pretty well. Culture shock hit him pretty hard but he is adjusting a little bit day by day. After we had some trainings we packed his things and then went back home. After we got home, I showed him around the area.
Thursday we did some studies and a lot of it. I'm learning how to be a trainer as I go on so I'm trying my best here. After studies we went out for a bit and then came back for weekly planning where I went into detail about the people we are teaching and then planned for the week. Not the most fun time but well needed. After that we did some more teaching with our friends.
Friday we went around teaching more people and helping Elder Bentley get used to things. It's fun to watch him try everything for the first time again because I can just remember when I was in his shoes. He is starting to like some of the foods so we have progress.
Saturday we taught some people in the morning and then watched general conference in the afternoon. Like I've said before it is so nice to watch general conference as a missionary! There was some great talks and I appreciated the spirit felt. One thing I liked is how we can better understand and feel personal revelation.
Sunday was similar to Saturday but with just more general conference. Power was constantly cutting out on Sunday so we would go from watching it on computer to listening on radio just back and forth. Was an interesting experience but the spirit was still there. Was amazing. I encourage everyone to watch the general conference! Just search The Church of Jesus Christ and you'll find it.
Anyways that was it for this week. Still learning how to best teach Elder Bentley so any advice would be well appreciated!! He's also pretty homesick and scared so I'm trying my best to comfort him and show him the ways. But also pray for me haha. I love and miss you all! Seriously I do. Have a great week. Till next time.
Much Love,
Elder Busschau.
