Be Careful What You Wish For

Hello family and friends.

 

 

This week has been good! A lot of interesting things happened. Like always, let's talk.

 

 

Tuesday we had interviews with the president. Nothing too interesting for me just a nice talk. Afterwards we were able to teach a recent convert names vincent. He's a good kid.

 

 

Wednesday was another good day. Some of our appointments fell through at the beginning but it all worked out when we went to go see a member who is struggling about school and wanted to learn more about BYU pathway. I have a lot of respect for BYU pathway because of the opportunity it gives to so many people out here whether member or not. It's cheaper than other schools and can get you a degree much faster. She had some questions about that that we were able to answer. In the evening we celebrated my one year on mission by getting some pizza! Was very nice.

 

 

Thursday we had district council meeting because of the interviews that were on Tuesday. It was good and afterwards we did weekly planning. After that we taught a member and some twins who are recent converts.

 

 

Friday I had the wonderful opportunity to use ASL again!! We went to the clothes lady's who we had set an appointment with and when we got there, there was three lady's. Two of them were talking to us and then we tried to greet the third one but she wasn't hearing us and then the lady who we have been talking to, said she can't speak or hear so unless we sign we can talk to her. Then my companion looks at me with a smile and I got put on the spot haha. My mind went blank but I was able to sign to her and say hello and that we will Come back this Wednesday. Was so cool and can't wait to see her again this Wednesday when I can prepare a little more haha.

 

 

Saturday was another crazy day. We will talk about Naomi real quick. She needs your prayers. We have found out the she has the opportunity of a life time to go work at Singapore-Canada-California for 2 years and after 2 years she can choose to stay in America and the business will do her visa for her. But the thing is she has to leave this week or she will have to wait another year. But her husband, like the not good person he is, gave her a altermatem (I know I spelt it wrong) either if she goes he leaves her and if she stays he won't. But he is going to leave anyways if she doesn't give child in about 4-5 months. So she is having a hard time deciding what to do because for some reason this guy has a curse on her to make her love him so much lol even after cheating on her multiple times. We don't want to make the decision for her so we told her to pray to God and to listen for an answer. So please pray for her that she may know what to do and to follow Thy Will. Thanks in advance. If she has a child with this guy she will most likely have to be with him for the rest of her life so maybe she can't have child for a reason... God knows why though so we will see. After all of this we had some good appointments with some other people.

 

 

Sunday we had church and it was good! We had a lot of investigators come so that was really cool. We had about 10 so it was a busy Sunday for us haha. After church nothing too interesting happened. 

 

 

So that's about it for this week. Some cool things and some things to learn from. I'm trying to find the lesson or the thing to learn in all of my experiences I'm having. It helps me understand why some things happened better. I love you all and grateful for the support! Till next week.

The Last *Full* Week

Yep, you read it correctly. This upcoming week is my last Monday to Sunday on mission. The week after I go home. Fly home that is. What an exhilarating time to be in. I am excited. But till that day comes, I'm here working and putting my last finishing touches in Ghana. The work is sweet, divine, and no where near my own work, but I'm here helping it.  This past week we've had some interesting experiences. We met an old African American women who was anti and didn't like white people. Was sad to see, someone so lost believing anything she sees online and giving no time or thought to the actual truth. Where truth is the spirit manifests itself, during that conversation there was no spirit, and not an ounce of happiness from her face. The Home Stretch

I'm just going to say sorry right now that these last couple emails are probably going to be short because there's just a lot of preparation going on and just a lot of teaching, nothing big is really happening right now. So with that... I had a good exchange on Wednesday with some Elders. I went with Elder Miles from Utah. He has a lot of potential.  We did a lot of finding this week with trying to find new people to teach. We will always see some funny sign boards or some weird name of a place. This week I found New York! Pic below. We also just went up some mountains trying to find people. Even the mountain people need the gospel and ordinances. Good times.  Now we are up to Busschau 3 - Rat (we have found out that these are RATS) 0. That's what they get for peeing on my clothes.  So I have 2 more pdays after today. Busschau 2 - Mouse 0

Yeah we have a mouse problem. Let's just say these little guys don't live long when I see them. I can send pictures If asked for. Hope all of you are doing well! I've had a pretty good week. We had our first interviews with President Beeson. It was wonderful, I'm very grateful for his inspiration and advice. I can feel he was truly sent to this mission for a purpose.  This week we were able to put one of our good friends on date for baptism. Her name is Sister Vida and she is a mother to 5 children. She has been being taught by missionaries for long time and finally I get the privilege to be the missionary who will witness her baptism (hopefully). She has shown lots of faith and we've had some great spiritual lessons with her. Hopefully she will keep to her commitments and she will be baptized on the 19th August.
