What. A. Week.

Hello Everyone! This week has been crazy and full of events. It's been a long one so let's talk.

 

 

Tuesday we had our district council meeting. It went well and we said our goodbyes. Afterwards I had to get packing. I practically moved into the madina apartment so that took a while haha. After several hours I was able to finish and we went to a member's house for a last meal. Was nice to meet with them and say goodbye.  

 

 

Wednesday was transfer day. Got up around 5:30am and had to finish packing. Got a taxi and headed to the stake center. It took a while for everyone to get there and for me to actually move and go to Ashaiman. Transfer day is one of the only days where we can be alone as we travel. So I traveled alone to the Ashaiman stake center with all my things. It was about an hour drive but we finally got there. Once I got there, I met with Elder Miller and got into another taxi to Zenu. Once I finally got to zenu, I was able to unpack my things and explore the new area. Elder Miller wasn't shown too much from his past companion in the area so it almost feels like we are both new to the area. The area is pretty nice. The apartment is nice except I don't got a water heater anymore, so cold showers now. The area is not as nice as Madina but it's cool to have some change. It was still discouraging going from knowing 9 months of information about an area and then now knowing nothing of an area. Still trying to get used to it but is was hard.

 

 

Thursday we did some planning and that helped me better understand the area. Elder Miller doesn't really know a lot about the area because his last companion only took him to a few people and members and then they baptized them all so now we have almost nothing to work with. But the planning helped both of us. Afterwards we met with some recent converts, which mainly consists of kids here. Just trying to meet everyone.

 

 

Friday we met with some more people and went to the other half of our area called monsu. Its quite a bike ride up there but very pretty. I'll send some pictures. Met with some cool people. Was good.

 

 

Saturday was pretty busy. In the morning we cleaned the whole chapel and got it all clean for tomorrow. Afterwards we ate and then we stayed in Monsu the whole time and met with some of our friends and members up there. Met with some cool recent converts. Thats about it.

 

 

Sunday was also very busy. Meeting all the members and trying to remember names takes a lot more energy than I remember haha. And after church literally everyone was trying to get our attention because they wanted to meet with us and it was a lot but we got through it and now our whole week is like already scheduled to so its nice. After church in the evening, the Ghana cape coast mission president got called to the general quorum of the 70 and there was a big devotional for him in the ashaiman stake. So we got to go and watch it. Was pretty cool and learnt a few things. 

 

 

So yeah that's a big summary of my week haha. It's been long and stressful but been a good week I guess overall. Still trying to get used to the area so will focus on that. Elder Miller is pretty good. All companions have pros and cons so I'll try to focus on the pros haha. It'll be a interesting transfer for sure. Alright love and miss you all!! Write me if you can! The Last *Full* Week

Yep, you read it correctly. This upcoming week is my last Monday to Sunday on mission. The week after I go home. Fly home that is. What an exhilarating time to be in. I am excited. But till that day comes, I'm here working and putting my last finishing touches in Ghana. The work is sweet, divine, and no where near my own work, but I'm here helping it.  This past week we've had some interesting experiences. We met an old African American women who was anti and didn't like white people. Was sad to see, someone so lost believing anything she sees online and giving no time or thought to the actual truth. Where truth is the spirit manifests itself, during that conversation there was no spirit, and not an ounce of happiness from her face. The gospel I Share brings joy to my heart everytime and to others it is shared with, as they embrace it. Please remember this when going around sifting through truth. The Home Stretch

I'm just going to say sorry right now that these last couple emails are probably going to be short because there's just a lot of preparation going on and just a lot of teaching, nothing big is really happening right now. So with that... I had a good exchange on Wednesday with some Elders. I went with Elder Miles from Utah. He has a lot of potential.  We did a lot of finding this week with trying to find new people to teach. We will always see some funny sign boards or some weird name of a place. This week I found New York! Pic below. We also just went up some mountains trying to find people. Even the mountain people need the gospel and ordinances. Good times.  Now we are up to Busschau 3 - Rat (we have found out that these are RATS) 0. That's what they get for peeing on my clothes.  So I have 2 more pdays after today. Busschau 2 - Mouse 0

Yeah we have a mouse problem. Let's just say these little guys don't live long when I see them. I can send pictures If asked for. Hope all of you are doing well! I've had a pretty good week. We had our first interviews with President Beeson. It was wonderful, I'm very grateful for his inspiration and advice. I can feel he was truly sent to this mission for a purpose.  This week we were able to put one of our good friends on date for baptism. Her name is Sister Vida and she is a mother to 5 children. She has been being taught by missionaries for long time and finally I get the privilege to be the missionary who will witness her baptism (hopefully). She has shown lots of faith and we've had some great spiritual lessons with her. Hopefully she will keep to her commitments and she will be baptized on the 19th August.
