God's Subtle Yet Detailed Plan

"Are we supposed to Baptise her? Can we even? Where did she get those clothes from?"

Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone! Don't worry I'll address the line above when I get to Sunday. Was an interesting experience. This week has ranged from some busy days to just absolutely drags. But that's all part of the experience. Let's talk about it.

Tuesday we had our Zone Conference. Zone Conference is always nice because it breaks up the week and I get to see some other missionaries that I usually don't get to see. We learnt a lot and was able to see a few of my good friends especially Elder Chatman who is also from Washington. There is only about three people from Washington out of the 180 something missionaries here. Was also able to meet Elder Mcbride who is from Utah who is friends with my Aunts family! Was cool to have that connection. Also during zone conference they played some hymns with an African Vibe and was really cool. I'll try to send a video. Afterwards not much happened, it took most of the day.

Wednesday was pretty slow. We met with a few people and also had the baptismal interview for Olivia. She passed and she was ready to be baptised on Sunday!

Thursday was a long day. We did our planning for the week and met with a couple people. That was it.

Friday was even longer than Thursday. It rained and nobody was wanting to meet with us. Nobody. Just was walking and texting all day. Finally met with some people that night but was long.

Saturday was quite the opposite. We first met with some recent converts to talk to them about how to teach other people. Then we went and taught like 10 kids again. We were planning on seeing this one women but she was sleeping so her daughter said teach me and my friends so thats what we did haha. we also met with Austin, Olivia's son and Olivia. Then after all that we prepared for the baptism for the following day.

Sunday was a busy morning. Church went well, we had some new people come to church and was quite a miracle because we didn't really have any more serious people after Olivia so it was like God helping refresh our teaching pool haha. After church we had the baptism for Olivia! It went well on her side and we had the senior missionaries in our ward baptise because they are going home soon and he has never baptised here yet in Ghana. Now to address the line up above in my email. First let me say how crazy it is out of all the things we (Elder Nicholes and I) don't here about going on in our ward haha. So we are starting our baptismal service for Olivia and we are only planning for her. And in the opening song we see this little girl just sitting there in baptismal clothing. We both look at eachother and are just like what is going on here haha. To make long story short and after a LOT of weird conversations, Turns out she is like a very weird unique child of record circumstance and has been interviewed by the bishop and just has been waiting for a day to be baptized and Bishop just said baptise her today haha. For those of you that don't know, Child of record means being baptised into the church at 8 years old and your family are members. So I guess a lot happens that we don't know about. Africa Baby. After church not a whole lot happened, just met with some people.

That's it for this week. Pretty interesting week I must say. I got some good pictures of zone conference and the baptism so those are down below. Something I've learned on my mission and that I'll take throughout the rest of my life is that God has a plan for us. Now I know we've probably all heard of this but have we really thought about it. I would like to use the example of the people that came to church that I talked about. First, like I said up above, after Olivia we had no one serious that we were teaching. We have a lot of people we teach but not a lot of ones that are serious about making change. So that was a blessing in itself and God showing us he has a plan an it unfolds perfectly in his time. One of the people that came was named Emmanuel. He had a member refer him to the church back in 2007. He just got busy with life and never came back. But yesterday he decided that was the day he would come again and try it out. And you wouldn't have guessed it but one of his questions was how do we baptise people. What are the chances he comes on a day we are baptising someone. And what are the chances that he comes right when our teaching pool gets used up. Very slim is the answer. Well the real answer is that there are no chances it just is. Because God made it happen. Emmanuel needed us when we didnt know we needed him. Let me give another example. The little girl that got baptised along the same time as Olivia turns out her parents aren't members but she comes to church with a member family and all her siblings are members and has been for years. So thats why the situation is unique. The parents want to join the church and have been taught by missionaries in the past but they have some things they need to figure out first. We didn't know this, we wouldn't have known this if it wasn't for the girl being baptised and us investigating the situation at this particular time. Counisdence? I think not. We are going to the parents place this week and are going to see what we can do. What I'm getting at is that, God has a plan for us and He uses us in His plan. He gots our back! But he also uses us to get other peoples back. So just look for those moments where nothing is making sense and then boom, you see Gods plan and it all makes sense. Its hard sometimes and I'm no where near great at it but every once in a while I can see it and then I'm grateful.

Alright there is my two cents. Till next week

Much Love,

Elder Busschau.
