Welcome Adom!
Hello Everyone!!
What a week it has been. Goes from popped tire, to a friendly bash, that moves towards a baptism to close the week. Let's just say I learn something new every week.
Last Tuesday started with a district council and lunch with friends. Later we taught Adom and had dinner. Nothing too fancy.
Wednesday was a busy day. Taught around 5 lessons and had a good bash(Meaning I went back and forth with a guy trying to prove things out of the bible lol). In the evening we prepared Adom for her baptismal interview and finished up teaching some things.
Thursday we taught a recent convert In the morning then popped my tire right after which was not good because we had to be places that day. So walked my bike like 20 min to the nearest shop I knew and got it fixed then we went off to planning for our week. Afterwards we had all of our appointments fall through which was unfortunate but in the evening Adom had her interview and she passed!
Friday was quite boring because it rained the whole morning but we had a nice Meal with the Bishops Family and got to know them better and help them.
Saturday we got to teach our Muslim friend Alhassan and Erik about the restored Church of Jesus Christ and its always interesting to learn with them. He pointed something out to me that I thought was cool. He said pastors and people come to them all the time through out the weeks saying all the same things, "take Jesus' hand so you can be saved when he comes and come to my church" you know, something along the lines of that. Then he asked me, "why are you guys different? Why do you teach the way you do?" And It hit me that our message we share is truly divine and we are the only people who share the truths that we know. I was able to explain to them why and that we just do it out of love and not force. Because we love people enough to share our message. Was an eye opener for sure. Moving on to the evening though we went and filled the font for Adoms baptism!
Sunday we went to church like usual which is always nice to see the members and then after church we had Adom's baptism! Was my second one where I actually baptised so that was a very cool and spiritual experience. Honestly I want to say it was just an overwhelming amount of spirit and stuff but to be honest and real, it was just like a peaceful and happy time. Nothing overwhelming or super powerful but just like a knowing of happiness that I felt, and that was just enough for me. Nothing too much after that.
This week we have Zone Conference so that should be good. Also special shout out to my mom, Happy Mothers day! One of the most caring and loving people I know and most of the time I just feel bad that people don't have her as a mom haha. I just call myself Lucky. And super thankful for all the other moms out there that have been moms to me throughout my life and supported me in all that I do. Even if some of them compare me to a sloth lol. Love you all! Miss you tons. Till next week!
Best,
Elder Busschau.
