Growth And Experience

What a week it has been. This has been a really good week and lots of learning and experiences. I'll share one of my favorite experiences thus far at the end.

Tuesday we had our interviews with President Young and mine went well. He kind of told me why I'm paired up with my companion and the things I can do to help him. After that we went and got some food with the other Elders with us. Later this day we went around and did some contacting to finish off.

Wednesday was a great day with a mix of appointments going through and contacting around. We were having quite the problem of making appointments because nobody wanted to meet with us but we were able to make a few. Overall a good day.

Thursday we were able to do some weekly planning and contact. Later in the day we met with our Muslim Friend Fattah. He's a really cool guy and I always learn lots from him about the Muslim religion. We always just exchange knowledge with him and find plenty similarities. Thursday night we went to Legon Institute again and it was someone's birthday so we got some nice refreshments along with going there.

Friday was just a mix of an appointment and lots of contacting. Nothing really exciting this day.

Saturday was a little better than Friday, we were able to teach a recent convert about the priesthood he has and he had some good questions about the temple we were able to help him with. We invited him to talk to the  bishop so when he's ready he can go to the temple in Accra. Then we had another appointment and some contacting.

Being Senior Companion I have learnt a lot about my self and have already grown so much. Now everything hasn't gone the way I thought it would have been going haha but certainly have grown and I see the Lord helping me through everything. I also want to thank my parents and everyone else that has given me support through everything! It's been a great help.

Now for Sunday, also when I had my tender experience. Sunday started off normal with going to church and helping people out. After church we were able to meet someone and extend a baptismal date! She really wants to be baptized and it's great to see, her name is Adom. Now that's not the experience though, that was just after church. After meeting with Adom we had a long and detailed branch council which went longer than usual and after that there was an additional member meeting that we just went to also at the Chapel. We then stayed a little longer and filled out reports for our week and did stuff like that. Right before we left I was contemplating pulling out money for food and whatnot either Sunday or what would be today. Felt like I should do it Sunday (so yesterday) so we went out the distance and went to the atm. First atm at network issues so wouldn't work. Second atm we went to couldn't put out money, third atm didn't support my card. And finally the fourth and last one in the area, finally worked! Keep in mind these atms are all about 5 min apart from eachother so it's been a good amount of time doing this. I was joking with my companion how this was a trial of my faith haha and I recieved a witness (money) after the trial. But as we are riding back there was man who called us and he must of barely saw us because he was in a sliver of the road and we went over. He first started talking about how he knows us missionaries and how his brother is on a mission in Nigeria and his mom is member. Then he goes on to say how he broke his leg riding on moto and has been sitting here for two days now. At first I thought he was faking trying to get some money but then I saw the red eyes and tears dropping from his face as he sits in pain starving not able to move or call anyone because he has no phone. At that moment I felt the love of the Savior go through me to him and I knew at that moment I was going to help him in someway! Now after some talking it turns out that I knew his mom and visited her just about two days ago! And I knew  the brother in Nigeria. What a connection from a guy I just met on the street. We ended up carrying him a little ways and ordered an uber to his moms house so he could get some help and see his family. Throughout helping him he kept on saying how he knows God sent us at this time right when he was looking up and how he knows he needs to come back to church and seek that peace again. I know that God was able to use me and my companion as instruments to help this man not only physical but spiritually as he recognised God was the one to help him. We hope to see Thomas again and he says he will be coming back to church again now and he wants us to visit him again this week. God truly has his own ways of bringing people back to church through experiences we all go through and I know that's what happened to Thomas here. Anyways that's the cool experience for this week  haha.

Hope you all have a great week this week and see the Lords hand in your life! Love you all and miss you plenty!
