Burger King

Aye chale antisan?!

 

 

This week has been quite nice on the side of mission work. The power of prayer is real and burger King is Heaven. 

 

 

Tuesday we had our Zone Conference and was quite nice. Zone Conference is always nice because you get to see some friends from other zones and you have the opportunity to learn a lot. So that went well then afterwards I went to heaven. Nah just kidding but it was pretty close. We went to Accra Mall and got some Burger King. Never in my life would I think I'd call burger King heaven but here I am. I guess its just something with not eating a burger in what feels like years haha. But it was amazing and I hope to go back soon. Nothing happened to much after that.

 

 

Wednesday was a good day for contacting people and finding. I prayed before hand to help us find the people who wanted to hear and who were ready to listen. And let me tell you that prayer worked. As of right now we found 9 new people this past week which is just great. Overall a great day.

 

 

Thursday was another good day of teaching people and answering questions. Sometimes appointments fall through but that just means we can go and find more people. But appointments are still nice haha.

 

 

Friday was alright. We did have a good member meal and it was nice. They gave use jollof rice and chicken. It always tastes better when a member makes it. Other than that nothing too much happened.

 

 

Saturday we were able to meet with some good people. We met with a girl name Jamila and she seems interested. Later that day we met with Olivia and her son. She has some struggles in her life but we can tell she is pushing through. Please pray for her if you can that she can try her best and push through so she can be baptized. 

 

 

Sunday we had church and it was nice. Always nice seeing the members and talking with them. After church with net with Olivia and her son again for another good lesson. Other than that we had Pizza Hut for Elder Sawyers birthday. So it was a good day!

The Last *Full* Week

Yep, you read it correctly. This upcoming week is my last Monday to Sunday on mission. The week after I go home. Fly home that is. What an exhilarating time to be in. I am excited. But till that day comes, I'm here working and putting my last finishing touches in Ghana. The work is sweet, divine, and no where near my own work, but I'm here helping it.  This past week we've had some interesting experiences. We met an old African American women who was anti and didn't like white people. Was sad to see, someone so lost believing anything she sees online and giving no time or thought to the actual truth. Where truth is the spirit manifests itself, during that conversation there was no spirit, and not an ounce of happiness from her face. The gospel I Share brings joy to my heart everytime and to others it is shared with, as they embrace it. Please remember this when going around sifting through truth. The Home Stretch

I'm just going to say sorry right now that these last couple emails are probably going to be short because there's just a lot of preparation going on and just a lot of teaching, nothing big is really happening right now. So with that... I had a good exchange on Wednesday with some Elders. I went with Elder Miles from Utah. He has a lot of potential.  We did a lot of finding this week with trying to find new people to teach. We will always see some funny sign boards or some weird name of a place. This week I found New York! Pic below. We also just went up some mountains trying to find people. Even the mountain people need the gospel and ordinances. Good times.  Now we are up to Busschau 3 - Rat (we have found out that these are RATS) 0. That's what they get for peeing on my clothes.  So I have 2 more pdays after today. Busschau 2 - Mouse 0

Yeah we have a mouse problem. Let's just say these little guys don't live long when I see them. I can send pictures If asked for. Hope all of you are doing well! I've had a pretty good week. We had our first interviews with President Beeson. It was wonderful, I'm very grateful for his inspiration and advice. I can feel he was truly sent to this mission for a purpose.  This week we were able to put one of our good friends on date for baptism. Her name is Sister Vida and she is a mother to 5 children. She has been being taught by missionaries for long time and finally I get the privilege to be the missionary who will witness her baptism (hopefully). She has shown lots of faith and we've had some great spiritual lessons with her. Hopefully she will keep to her commitments and she will be baptized on the 19th August.
