Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year

Hello Everyone! 

 

 

This week goes down as one of the best weeks on mission so far. Even though it was Christmas and I'm away from home, plenty happened that made up for it.

 

 

Tuesday we had our Christmas Zone Conference which was very nice. Our Mission President came and talked to us for a little and then we had a nice feast with some fufu, rice, chicken and several other things. I was able to see some of my good friends from my last area that I hadn't seen in about 9 weeks. Was so cool to see them again. That night we started an overnight exchange and I was with my good friend Elder Farabee.

 

 

Wednesday we had the exchange and was a super cool time over all. Definitely made some memories that are engraved in my head now and some good times to look back on. We were able to learn from each other and do some good work together. Overall was a fun yet efficient time.

 

 

Thursday we went over to a member meal, like my third one on mission haha. Was the bishops house and they gave is fufu and light soup which was very good. Not too much happened Friday which was Christmas eve.

 

 

Christmas was fun, Elder Sawyer and I got some KFC for lunch and then was able to talk with family in the evening. Was a good time over all. 

 

 

This was probably my most Christ centered Christmas I've had my whole life haha. Its really cool to see the different culture here and how they celebrate things. People here don't have a lot except their service and love that they give so willing. Its really an eye opener to watch. Its really an experience to be on mission during Christmas time as you learn so much more about the true meaning of it.

 

 

Sunday there was a little party for Christmas time at a members house which was pretty cool and lots of food.

The Last *Full* Week

Yep, you read it correctly. This upcoming week is my last Monday to Sunday on mission. The week after I go home. Fly home that is. What an exhilarating time to be in. I am excited. But till that day comes, I'm here working and putting my last finishing touches in Ghana. The work is sweet, divine, and no where near my own work, but I'm here helping it.  This past week we've had some interesting experiences. We met an old African American women who was anti and didn't like white people. Was sad to see, someone so lost believing anything she sees online and giving no time or thought to the actual truth. Where truth is the spirit manifests itself, during that conversation there was no spirit, and not an ounce of happiness from her face. The gospel I Share brings joy to my heart everytime and to others it is shared with, as they embrace it. Please remember this when going around sifting through truth. The Home Stretch

I'm just going to say sorry right now that these last couple emails are probably going to be short because there's just a lot of preparation going on and just a lot of teaching, nothing big is really happening right now. So with that... I had a good exchange on Wednesday with some Elders. I went with Elder Miles from Utah. He has a lot of potential.  We did a lot of finding this week with trying to find new people to teach. We will always see some funny sign boards or some weird name of a place. This week I found New York! Pic below. We also just went up some mountains trying to find people. Even the mountain people need the gospel and ordinances. Good times.  Now we are up to Busschau 3 - Rat (we have found out that these are RATS) 0. That's what they get for peeing on my clothes.  So I have 2 more pdays after today. Busschau 2 - Mouse 0

Yeah we have a mouse problem. Let's just say these little guys don't live long when I see them. I can send pictures If asked for. Hope all of you are doing well! I've had a pretty good week. We had our first interviews with President Beeson. It was wonderful, I'm very grateful for his inspiration and advice. I can feel he was truly sent to this mission for a purpose.  This week we were able to put one of our good friends on date for baptism. Her name is Sister Vida and she is a mother to 5 children. She has been being taught by missionaries for long time and finally I get the privilege to be the missionary who will witness her baptism (hopefully). She has shown lots of faith and we've had some great spiritual lessons with her. Hopefully she will keep to her commitments and she will be baptized on the 19th August.
